Sunday we played a tournament in Drumoig, an American style course not far from st andrews. we played with a 15 e year old Scot named Sean. He is nice boy and a good golfer. On the other hand, he was not much of a tour guide. Luckily after the round we ran into the Social Secretary Bob. He told us about the area and the club and offer Bill some horse racing tips. we did not place in the event, but Don won 8 pounds in a side game. Monday we played Carnoustie, one of the most difficult courses in the world. our scores were high, but it helped put into perspective the difference between us the the pros. It seemed our good shots ended up bad, and our bad shots ended in places where there was no escape. The fairway bunkers were impossible to do anything other than chip out sideways. The town is unremarkable, so we went on to St Andrews. Going to explore the town and play the New Course. We are both fighting some minor health issues. Apparently we are allergic to Scotland.
