Observations Showers. In ten years the showers have improved in the UK from early 1900's technology to the mid 1950's. Still bad but better. Toilets. A big improvement from the old water closet to modern toilets that take 8 tries to operate. Food. Chinese food is good, that's about all I can say. Parking. I think there are only 12 parking spots available at any given time on the entire island. Cars are parked anywhere and every where. And the people here are just used to it. It's completely nuts. Public transportation. Their trains, buses and shuttle work well and are a pleasure to use. We could learn much from them. TV. It seems the only thing the produce here are reality shows. Most of the other program is from the US. Kettles. From the people who drink tea all the time, they have developed an almost instant boiling water electric kettle. Water and ice. You have ask for water. One restaurant even had in small print that said you can have water but only one glass. Ice on the other hand takes an act parliament to get any. Gasoline. We filled up the car today. 14 gallons, 93 pounds, or around 150 dollars, would you like to fill up at that price every week? Just like back home, it seems that every house and business is for sale. Every neighborhood has for sale signs everywhere.
