Thursday we spent exploring St Andrews. We checked out the castle and the ruined abbey. We found the grave stones for Old and Young Tom Morris, the first family of golf. We wondered around the town, to put it in perspective, it is like being in a larger Leavenworth. Every thing and every one is somehow connected to golf. For us that is pretty cool. We had dinner at the Glass House, an upscale restaurant. Like all the others, you had to ask for water, it was cramped and you never know if they are going to bring you a bill or if you have to find someone to pay. Friday we woke up to the worst weather thus far. By the time we got to the first tee at the Old Course it was 50 degrees, a 30-40 mile per hour wind and raining buckets. We will detail that story latter. After golf, we were soaking wet, but had already checked out of the b & b, so we changed in the car, put the wet clothes in a bag and drove to England. Many more stories to come....
